WinRAR, the famous compression tool, wins the Silver award for “Software of the Year 2007�!

WinRAR, is the first runner-up for the Software of the Year award at IFA Show in Berlin, Germany. Berlin, Germany --September 07, 2007-- win.rar GmbH and RARLAB are pleased to announce that WinRAR has recently won the prestigious Software of the Year award 2007. WinRAR secured the second position in the list of best software products in the System category.

The awards were announced at the annual IFA show, held in Berlin on August 30th, 2007. A panel of experts nominated 10 programs in each product category specified by Softwareload: Office & Finance, CD & DVD, Desktop, Hobby & Leisure, Internet, Multimedia, Security, System and Tuning. The panel consisted of reputed journalists and editors of well known computer magazines like PC Magazin & magnus.de, PC-WELT, etc. WinRAR was up against nominated industry leaders in the System category. The voting went on for four weeks and the awards received an overwhelming response as more than 600,000 unique votes were casted this year.
