I get an error like "The required volume is absent"!
Note that some RAR files can be parts of multi-volume sequences. In WinRAR you can split a huge archive to a few smaller files, which are called volumes. They may have extensions .rar (the first volume), .part1.rar, part2.rar ... (the next volumes).
Another older extension based naming scheme is, where the first volume file in a multi-volume set has the extension .rar and following volumes are numbered from .r00 to .r99.
When you have to deal with volumes, you need to collect all required volumes in the same folder and start extraction from .rar or part1.rar volume.
So if you get an error like "The required volume is absent" when trying to unpack a file, then you need to search for the rest of the volumes.
Most of the posts in the newsgroups or downloads from web sites are named "1/93" or "5/34" so you can see which part you are downloading and how many parts you need.
