Post subject: DNS zone Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>dns (more info?)
I have two separate domains that are connected via a trust. One is runing
Server 2003 and the other Server 2000. I have setup a Stub zone in the Server
2003 DNS to access resources on the 2000 domain. How do I setup the DNS for
the 2000 domain to achieve what the stub zone does in 2003?

On the 2000 DNS, create a secondary zone of the 2003's zone. You can also
forward everything to them, but that also entails all internet requests too.

I was trying to limit the zone to SOA, NS and host record for the server
only. Can I do that if I create a secondary zone?

SOA (Start of Authority) would not be a secondary but rather the Master.

No, 2K support no such capability ... upgrade, suffer the consequences
of forwarding everything to 2K3 or use a secondary.
