I want to know is it possible to upgrade windows server 2000 AD to windows
server 2003 AD STD R2 (64bit)

You need to install the new o/s on a different server and transfer roles,
etc... to this new server. If you then want to upgrade this old server you
have to rebuild from scratch. Demote via dcpromo, reinstall o/s and
repromote.

Hello zhangyang RemoveThis @tfschina.com.cn,

You can not do an inplace upgrade from 32bit ot 64bit OS.

But you can add the server as additional Domain controller, that's no problem.

yes for AD, not for the server. It is not possible to upgrade x86 to x64
