Post subject: do i have windows media player 11 on vista home premium?? Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>general (more info?)
hi everyone, i am very new to all this window media stuff lol i was
just wondering how do i find out if i already have windows media player
11 on my vista home premium? if i dont, how do i go about getting it?
and is it free? I HOPE any reply to help me would be great, thank you

Hi. I too have a problem determining which version of Media Player I am
running. I have Vista Ultimate and get automatic updates. Your
instruction to pull down the HELP menu and select ABOUT doesn't work, as
there is no HELP menu.
There are 6 headings, each one with it's own HELP: Now Playing,
Library, Rip, Burn, Sync, and Media Guide. There is no "stand alone"
menu called HELP.
If I right-click the Media Player in the Start menu, I find it was
installed 2/21/2008 and modified 2/27/2008. No version number is
listed.

Try Ctrl + M to view the classic menu.

I never knew about ctrl-m. It worked. My version is 11.0.6001.7000.
