Windows lock up

Ron, no i do not have any spy checkers or A/V on this machine as it is a
stand alone no internet machine, also yes it has been like this for about 6
mos or so

Two things I can suggest. Try closing down all programs running in the
background (use msconfig) and see if one of the background programs is
causing the freeze problem.

If no luck, then I believe I would format the drive and start anew. For
