Post subject: windows 2008 trail is asking a product key Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>setup (more info?)
Hi, Guys
Can some body break the mystery behind the Microsoft 2008 trail
installation?
It is asking me a product key.-what should i enter?

What happens if you leave it blank and try to continue the installation?
According to Microsoft "Evaluating Windows Server® 2008 software does
not require product activation or entering a product key."

It won't let you access the system, I have the same problem - clear
installation of MS Win2008srv standard

It helped for me to download image again from the MS download server,
because I've probably had some old version. And remember to UNCHECK the box
"activate windows when I'm online", it's in the same screen where you type in
(or in case of trial install - you don't type in) the serial number.
