Post subject: win 98 can't find new device driver Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win98>pnp (more info?)
i reinstalled my usb scanner with my manufacturers cd, as i have many times
before with no problem, but this time, my windows 98 new hardware wizard
cannot find the driver. this is the first time this has ever happened. i even
downloaded the drivers from the manufacturers site, but my pc still won't see
them. my scanner is there in the device manager, but it shows' there is a
problem-no drivers'. please help.

Unplug the scanner and remove the drivers. Then install the scanner
software and do not plug the scanner in to the computer's USB port until
prompted to do so.
If this doesn't work, let us know what make and model scanner you have so
that we can look to see if there are specific instructions for your
particular scanner.
