I bought laptop with win2000 nt pro and loaded some bus programs. Worked for
a week. Now it freezes all the time. Instead of rebooting, I am logging out
and logging back in, its faster. Can anyone help with what might be wrong?
I thought win 2000 nt was a stable operating system. I am at the point of
formatting and installing win 98se again.

What is freezing? If you can log out and log back in it sounds like an
application is freezing not the OS. Win2k Pro is way more stable than Win98
but your applications that you loaded may not be compatible?!?!

Hi Scott
Now I really need help! I tried to change the log in name thinking this
would eliminate all the different user names that 2000 nt seems to want to
log on with. I accidently changed the wrong name and now I have lost all my
settings. the whole desktop that I worked on is gone. all the icons,
programs, settings, etc., is gone. I can only log on with admin that has no
changes since I started using this *(&%@$@$ computer.
I need help. How can I get back my old user desktopk, or is this a thing of
the past???
I appreciate any help
Thank you
Bob
