I already told him to try Newegg
I saw a few XP machines there a few days ago

Pay Dell an extra $100 to put XP on the system (of your choice?).
I don't think the OP was looking for that - but she doesn't want to do
it herself either. But she's been awol from this thread for a few days
so she's probably gonzo.

You may want to wait for that purchase.... Microsoft's new Windows version
{Windows7} *MAY* be out by the middle of 2009 {or even earlier}.
With the shear number of critical updates Microsoft has released for XP AND
VISTA [many addressing the same continuing issues], perhaps the newer
version will have these issues *actually* corrected rather than patched.

| Hi.. I've had Windows 98se for many years and I'm looking to get a
| newer PC. I see that MOST of the systems today come with Windows
| Vista. I do see an occasional PC with XP but it is usually one that
| is on "clearance".
|
| If I do get a newer PC, which operating system would you reccomend? I
| have heard quite a few people say that they didn't care much for Vista
| and I was wondering why that is the case?
|
| Thank You

It isn't that. He's had too much XP/Vista-irradiation after his tinfoil
hat burnt off! .

Thanks or Good Luck,
There may be humor in this post, and,
Naturally, you will not sue,
