Thet are in blue type and its amess to look at...Apparently this may
have something to do with windows updating. If i ger rid of them, would
I be uninstalling those recent updates? Why would they be listed as
Uninstall...to confuse us?

I've seen those folders in C:\Windows on computers running Windows XP,
but not on Windows 98.
In Windows XP, the folder named $NTUninstallKBnnnnnn$ contains files
that were modified by Windows Update number KBnnnnnn. It's OK to get
rid of such a folder, but if you do, you won't be able to un-install
the corresponding Windows Update.

Why would you be asking what appears to be a WinXP question in a Win98 group?

If the Original Poster just wants to clean up the WINDOWS directory,
he could make a single subdirectory and move all of the uninstall
folders into it.
I suggest that if he later decides to uninstall some particular
updates should rename temporarily rename ALL of the renamed folders
back to their original location, uninstall what he wants to, then
rename things again.
