Post subject: Way to suppress the "hidden files in folder" message in Win98SE when selecting/copying or moving? Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win98>gen_discussion (more info?)
Well, I discovered a nifty little freeware to use in Win98SE and Win2K to
replace the default folder icon that WinXP has natively, and have gone nuts
with that as it's really helped me out. The only thing that results from
this that I find cumbersome is that whenever I select the contents of a
folder with a custom icon to copy or paste, I get an annoying warning
message come up telling me I have hidden files in that folder (the
desktop.ini and the icon, which I change to a hidden state).
Is there a way to disable that warning in Win98SE? I know when it's
important to know about the hidden files, i.e., DLLs, etc., that I must
copy/move if need be, so don't need this warning to come up. I know very
well that the ini and ico are hidden so don't need to constantly be
reminded! <lol>
