Post subject: For one server only, services now run only under local system - no Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>general (more info?)
Situation: Database server with several networked apps. Several apps are set
up to use services that those apps have created, e.g. backup exec and
"Track-It!". Each app had a service account under which it was run (generally
domain administrator).
few weeks ago the services could not start under domain admin, but can under
local system. At least one cannot just leave it alone as a work around
because it uses an outlook profile on the machine and local system, I'm told,
won't work with the profile.

The event log may provide some detail. Make sure the account has appropriate
policy permissions on local machine such as logon as a service.
