When manually removing a rather nasty virus I accidently deleted the
rundll32.exe file. Although I think it should be simple to restore, I can't
for the life of me figure out how to do it!? Can someone help?

rundll32.exe is extractable from WIN_17.CAB on the WinMe CD in the \win9x
folder. You might also find a copy of the WIN_17.CAB in the widows\options
folder on your C: drive.

You can use msconfig.exe to extract it.

"Unable to Extract Files Using the System Configuration Utility"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;259687

The correct location for rundll32.exe is in the Windows folder.

You're welcome! - I just hope the fresh copy sorts you out and you are now
completely virus free.

You should perhaps note that you are posting to a newsgroup supporting
those running the Windows Millennium operating system rather than Windows
XP.

As for restoring rundll32.exe, look for a copy in
...\Windows\system32\dllcache and copy this to the ..\Windows\system32
folder. If however you deleted both you may be out of luck if you don't
have an XP CD.
