office 2000 over-writes WAB from OE6

Hi,

apologies is this is the wrong group for this question.
i've been using oe6 which comes bundled with IE as my email client for some
time. recently a friend gave me his unused "old" version of Office 2000
pro, and on installing it - with the intention to have Outlook 2000 as my
new mail client, I see that Outlook has overwritten the old address book,
(removing the folder system i had set up); also now my "send to" email names
do not appear in the "auto-complete" way, where you type in a couple letters
and the rest of the email address magically appears.

would re-installing IE6 (with OE6) help or solve this issue?
is IE6/OE6 still available from MS, or would I be forced to go to IE7 (which
I don't want)?
would an alternative 'fix' be for me to try inserting my XPpro cd and see if
I can re-install IE/OE6 from that source?
