Please help...WinME, LiteOn dual layer DVD writer, Nero 6...all have worked
previously just fine, but now dvd writer is not available to burn with in
Nero. Using Nero's Infotool, it says "device is locked by an unknown
application", or "device is being used by another application". No other
applications running that I can find that have to do with the drive.
Have been struggling 2 days nown, delving into ASPI drivers, uninstalling
recent Creative software including Disk Detector (yuk), even tried a System
Restore back about 3 weeks, all no luck. Pulling what little hair I have left
out here... Device manager says it's working fine, and the best driver
available is already installed... It's either over my head or so completely
simple I've missed it, hopefully someone can help, as I'm running out of disk
space and just want to burn a bunch of digital photos to archive and free up
some space!

Thanks anyway, but I happened to scan through the loaded drivers listed in
Nero's Infotool (Find System Info) drivers tab, and saw a couple for InCD
from a previous full install of Nero Suite. There was even a text log file
there, which listed several errors in regards to drive in use, and can't
write to drive as info is still being written to it, etc... Removed all
traces of InCD and all's well and burning again. Maybe this will help someone
else with a similar problem in the future....
