Post subject: IE only launches 3 of 5 attempts. Freezes. Overheats & shuts down! Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>inetexplorer>ie6>ieak (more info?)
Very often, after attempting to launch Internet Explorer, the browser frame
will load, but the contents of the web page does not. Necessarily, I will
have to implement the Task Manager to 'shut down' the program that either is
' running' or the page is 'not responding'. Generally, after 2 or 3 attempts
the browser page will appear. However, it appears quite sluggish.
Also, when viewing any video application or navigating from other links --
ESPECIALLY from OUTLOOK 2003, the Internet Explorer program stalls and
becomes non responsive. Thereafter, the computer shuts down -- causing me to
reboot. After depressing the start button, I get an error message -- #M1004,
that tells me to press F1 and report the incident to the system
administrator. It just so happens that I am the Sys Admn, but...
unfortunately I have no solution!!! Could Someone Out There Please Help!!!
