Post subject: Why does hovering no longer change my status bar? Add to elertz Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>inetexplorer>ie6>setup (more info?)
July 1, 2008
Hello, all,
Until a few days ago, whenever I hovered the cursor over a link, the
IE6 status bar would show the URL of that link. For some reason it
has stopped working. Now when I hover over a link, the status bar
either says, "Done" or it's blank except for an icon.
Seeing the full URL before you click it is very handy and can alert
you to a URL that is suspicious.
Any ideas on how I can return the status bar to its full potential?
Is this a problem with the Registry?
Thanks from JohnnyG
P.S. I use Internet Explorer version 6, SP-2 on a Windows XP machine.

"a link"? Post a sample URL. The most likely cause is scripting.

Yes, just a plain old link. An example is http://www.google.com.
Incidentally, it works just fine using Fire Fox 2.
