From outlook express help.

Look at index, choose 'breaking up large messages' or 'sending large
messages'

To send large messages

Many mail and news servers limit the size of the messages you can receive
and send. Usually this limit is one megabyte (1 MB) per message, including
all attached files.

With Outlook Express, however, you can send large messages or files to mail
and news servers that have size limits by breaking the messages into smaller
ones. When the group of messages is received, the mail program recombines
them into one message.

On the Tools menu, click Accounts.

On either the Mail or News tab, click Properties.

On the Advanced tab, select the Break apart messages larger than x KB check
box and then enter the maximum file size the server will allow.

If you strictly adhere to all of the Caveats I've posted (at least twice in
this thread), you should NOT encounter corruption. If you do, something's
funky with your install of WinXP (not OE) and you'd need to do a format &
reinstall (not a Repair Install).

NB: Do NOT rename the MAIN IDENTITY, create a new one. To avoid any
confusion, do not use the word MAIN in the name of any user-created
identities.

Bear yes AGAIN I do comply with all the caveats you suggest and YES I do
encounter this problem reoccurring time and time again. Honestly I do not
know if the cause lies in OE or XP but I can work around it using new
identity or by switching to a mail system other than OE which is much better
than starting XP life all over again.
Again thank you and Bruce for trying. I know you are as frustrated with me
as I am with the problem. I do wish though that you would accept the fact
that your standard cures do not fix all problems and you would not need to
keep repeating them. Admitting defeat, which I am at this point, is not a
sign of weakness but only acknowledges I, and you, are not all knowing.
Respectfully
SG
