1. None of those are HDMI > VGA adapters.

2. You might be able to daisy-chain adapters HDMI to DVI-I to VGA, but not
HDMI to DVI-D to VGA. You can't go from DVI-D to VGA.

3. The big issue is the HDCP component of HDMI, but how that works, I didn't
read up on much, except that it's the DRM portion of the signal. I *believe*
that must be filtered out before the signal can be used by any other
non-HDMI device. Perhaps that's what an HDMI to DVI-I adapter does.
