THANK YOU Bruce - this fix seemed to work for me just fine. I used old
Office XP discs. I must say that I was not prepared for the new look and
feel of Office 2007. I consider myself to be quite proficient in Word and
Excel but I have to start all over with finding my way. I wouldn't have
upgraded the Office, if I'd known. I am sure a lot of people are scratching
their heads with the new layout.

Office 2007 destroys the spell checker in Outlook Express.
The easiest solution is to install a free spell checker that works in Outlook Express.
One suggestions is: http://www.justlocal.com.au/clients/oespellcheck/
