Hi! I have Windows XP Home Edition Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254
(Service Pack 2) with IE Explorer 7.0.5730.13 as well as Firefox
2.0.0.9 installed. Flash worked fine in both browsers up until about a week
ago. Now it only works in Firefox. I have used the uninstaller downloaded
from the Macromedia website, downloaded the zip file to my desktop and tried
running it, but was told it was not the most current version and the install
was prematurely ended by the installer. I've tried downloading it from the
Macromedia website, and still it works only with Firefox. Is there a way I
can get it working with IE again??

Thanks!

Gary,

Uninstall the Flash player using the Macromedia uninstaller:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/uninstall_fla...player.

References:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/

Reboot the PC.

Locate this folder

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Macromed\Flash\

If it exists, delete the "Flash" folder.

Reinstall Adobe Flash Player from:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=Shoc...veFlash

Reboot again and test.

Good luck.

Hi and thank you for the reply! Unfortunately following your suggestion did
not work. When I went to the test site @:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

The shockwave works fine, but it tells me I need to install flash instead of
displaying the flash object. When I try to go ahead and install it again, it
doesn't do anything.

Any other suggestions??

Thanks for the help. I like IE but it's aggravating that some websites don't
display properly without the flash.

Gary

That's OK, it was worth a try! I guess I'll just keep using firefox, I'd
just like to get Internet Explorer to work also. I did uninstall Internet
Explorer 7 and try 6 with the same results.
