And you ask this in a Windows Millennium hardware newsgroup?

Win2K and XP can both use the FAT32 and NTFS filing systems. NTFS in
Windows 2000 is known as v3.0 and that in XP v3.1. Minor changes were
introduced to NTFS in XP and you might want to search on TechNet for
details however the impact on the end user is negligible. I can't
remember details of the changes introduced with XP but these include
Triple DES and AES encryption and may also have allowed larger volumes

Further changes were introduced with NTFS v3.1 which is part of Vista such
as the introduction of symbolic links.
