I am trying to fdisk a new Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 120Gb ATA/133 HDD.

I boot the PC with a Win98SE boot disk and every time I run fdisk it gives
me a maximum value of 51Mb

How can I get the full amount capacity??

Tks in advance

Hi Jorge,
After you have checked your computer Bios detects the full size of the
harddisk did you see in the MicroSoft Knowledge Base following article?
Fdisk Does Not Recognize Full Size of Hard Disks Larger than 64 GB

First you were talking about "a Win98SE boot disk" I assumed you started
the PC with that floppy (so you were running Win98 Dos) and used Win98SE
FDISK and FORMAT.
In that case you should be able to have a FAT32 partition up to the full
capacity of the 120GB harddisk.
If not, there is something very wrong!

When you partition/format in Windows XP you can't get a FAT32 partition
bigger than 32GB each.
That's an artificial limitation intentionally applied by MS to avoid
large FAT32 drives.
I don't consider it a solution when you got something you didn't want.
