Hi, my mother uses windows 98 and frequently gets the following error
message:
"The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'Epson All-in-one
registration.ink' refers to is unavailable. Make sure the disk is properly
inserted or the network resource is available then try again"
Anybody know what this means and/or how to get rid of it?

Look in Start > Programs > Startup - for the Epson link file - it may be
trying to register the Epson programs installed.
You may remove it if she doesn't need the programs registered or you intend
to continue to supply the support. Likely the unpaid support has already
ended anyway...
OR use msconfig [Start > Run > type in msconfig and hit enter] to check for
an entry in the startup occurring when the system starts. This can also be
disabled if this is where its loading.

Here Epson printer software is trying to connect to Epson's web site
to register.
Locate the shortcut named "Epson All-in-one registration.lnk" and
delete it.
Good luck
