Post subject: How do I get dial-up adaptors for ME?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsme>new-user (more info?)

Hi, all. I have a friend who just got a computer from another. The
last owner had a net card in it. New owner has dial-up.

She put in a brand new modem, tried to get back to her old server with
her new computer and can’t get online. The "window" that pops up
say the computer has no dial-up network adaptor.

Does a dial-up network adaptor come with the ME software, and is that
where one gets the adaptors? If so, last owner could have taken out
the adaptors.

If we reinstall ME would that work? Would it reinstall without losing
the programs in the computer.

Help, Please Idea

Add/Remove Programs | Windows Setup, select Communications and then click
Details. Check DUN, OK and then Apply. If already selected uncheck, OK
and Apply, and then go back and check again, and finally OK and Apply.

You shouldn't have to reinstall to fix this problem.
