Hi guys,
for some strange reason Windows Management and help center seem to pop up at
random times for no reason at all. Tried running SR, but it didn't help.
When giving the three finger solute, it shows Windows Management with the
vowels in management and Help Center with the vowels missing in center.

This could be one of those unexplainable things, but try looking at your
startup items for something resembling this. Uncheck it.

Just fishing, but check your task scheduler. I'm assuming you're bringing up
the normal help stuff and not the business management program for servers.
Also, with your 3 finger salute, "end task" rather than closing program. It
might not appear again during that session.

When you say Windows Management, do you mean winmgmnt? If so, I suggest it
is invoked by software such as your firewall (though why Help Centre should
come up too, I don't know). Personally I think this is because everything
has for a long time now been designed for XP (and now Vista), which do not
suffer from winmgmnt running - but Windows 98 and Windows ME do suffer. In
this sense I feel that even when software is still said to be compatible
with 98/ME - and will certainly install! - still it is not really and you
need to revert to about the last version made while Millennium was still in
Support by Microsoft, possibly even earlier. Put it another way, they may
say this or that is compatible with Windows ME - but actually all they mean
is it will install, and will run. Not that performance won't suffer. If you
physically disconnect from the internet, you can experiment by, say,
uninstalling the firewall, and seeing if that improves matters. If not, try
uninstalling something else relatively recent. But install a new firewall
before going back online, if that is what it is.
Again, I don't know why Help Centre would be running - but my experience of
winmgmnt running in Window ME is that it severely impacts on performance,
and it is always some recent third party software such as the firewall, that
triggers it.

Yes, it's the normal help. Nothing in the schedule tasks except for 3
maintenance programs and PC Health Scheduler for Data Collection
All times are: Eastern Time (US & Canada) (change)
