I have a network printer installed on the LAN with it's own IP address. How
do I configure "Add Printer" wizard to connect to this printer from a Win98
PC ?

Yes I do, I found the Windows 98 drivers for the printer HP LJ3600dn.
Didn't come on the newer versions of the install CD, but found on Internet.
I tell Wizard where to find driver files and it is happy. That part I have
correct.

I don't think you can do this in the 'wizard' , instead add as a local
printer, then properties/details tab and use add port option.

It is possible. Try some of the tricks described here:
http://www-jerry.oit.duke.edu/community/howto/pc/add_tcpip_printer.html

Did your printer manufacturer provide some software to support this
function?

You're going too fast for me. When I "Add A Printer" it automatically
starts the wizard.

What information do I enter configure into the Add Port ?

Wow, that article is one hell of a keeper. Thank you very much. Good old
Win98 pulls through another challenge with some help from friends.

I don't know how many times this forum has come through for me, I can't
thank you enough.
