Post subject: changing user rights yet still have existing programs working Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>active_directory (more info?)
I have a win2k server with 10 win2k workstations. All the workstations log
on with the name "administrator" without a password and full administrator
priviledges. I'd like to change this and give the workstations limited
priviledges. When I change the log in name from administrator to "new name"
I can't use any of my programs anymore (even if I set it to the
administrators group). Does this mean I have to uninstall the programs and
reinstall while I'm logged on under the new name.
What is weird is the program icons are still there like everything is normal
but when I click on them nothing happens.

Hello tuuf,
Some programs pop up during installation with the question "Only current
user or all users of the computer", so maybe a reinstall could help.
