You can't change it in safe mode.

Does the screen *say* Safe Mode in the corners? If so, then you need to
focus on fixing that problem and ignore the display issue for now. It isn't
a display issue at all, since what you're seeing is the only way Safe Mode
functions. Getting Windows to start in Normal Mode is your task. Please post
your problem history to the win98.gen_discussion newsgroup.

If you really aren't in Safe Mode, then you need to reinstall the display
adapter drivers (not drivers for the monitor, the display adapter drivers.)
If this is your problem (you're not in safe Mode, just need to reinstall
video drivers), and you need help doing that, post back and we'[ll proceed
on that basis (but if you *are* getting, stuck in Safe Mode, then post to
the Win98 General Discussion group.

Hint 2: If you are posting from the problem computer, then you aren't in
Safe Mode.

Hint 3: You will have a better experience in these newsgroups if you use a
real newsreader instead of the MS websuite interface. Click on one of the
following:

Look in the menu at left for several links having to do with using Outlook
Express to read newsgroups.
