I uninstalled MS Office XP and installed MS Office 97 on my notebook
computer. Before the system re-boot completes, there is an error message
saying "The application is already running." I checked the startup and did
not find any duplicate program. Can someone advise me the possible causes
and fixes.

Many thanks,

Ray

Hi Ray

Why did you install Office XP on an ME installation? Didn't think it would
even install - you should have seen a warning message??

Will,

Office XP installs just fine on Win Me
(http://www.microsoft.com/office/previous/xp/sysreqs.asp). It's Office
2003 that needs Win2K or XP.

Will,

Could you advise what "furball" is how to remove it.

Thanks,

Ray
