Post subject: Windows 2003 server and sharing printers Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>group_policy (more info?)
A policy is in effect that prevent you from connecting to the I have a
Windows 2003 server, which have just deployed for the purposes of printer
sharing and roving profile mangement.
I have shared theprinter out as I have in the past with Windows 2000. All of
my users get "a policy is in effect that prevents you from connecting to this
print queue. Please contact your administrator"
Point and print GP is disabled.
All of the printers save 2 are HP printers.
Two are toshiba copiers.
If I log in as an admin on a machine and add a printer. A user can come
afterwards and login and add the same model printer with no issue.
WHY?
I did not have this issue with WIN2k server.
I there a simple fix for this issue, as I do not wish to touch 150 machines.
All times are: Eastern Time (US & Canada) (change)
