Post subject: Windows 2000 Processes get shortened
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>general (more info?)

I am using Nagios and nsclient to monitor an old windows 2000 box. I
am using the check to pull the process list, and verify if an .exe is
being executed. On one of my Windows 2000 Server machines, I get
false negatives. A service is started, and the executable name is
something like longservicename.exe. When I log in, the service is
running. If I pull up task manager, I see "longservic" and that's
it. So its causing my check to fail. Any reason Windows 2000 is
cutting the process name short??
