Post subject: Will the Volume Shadow Copy Service run on Windows 2000 Server? Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>file_system (more info?)
The company I work for has a client who are interested in getting the Volume
Shadow Copy Service (not the client) running on their Windows 2000 server and
I have been tasked with the assignment to find if this is even possible
After quite a bit of research I have come up with few posts even putting VSS
and server 2000 in the same sentence so I’m coming to the conclusion that it
isn’t possible
If it is where do I get the package to install the VSS to server 2000 and
are there any tricks involved in the installation
If it isn't is there an appropriate software package that will do a similar
job as the VSS and where can I get it

Hello Alex,
Never heard about, this comes with server 2003. As you find yourself only
the client is available.
