Hi, I am not sure if it is the right news group for this question. But...

The problem is the following: A week ago, after a windows had install an
update, the word pad can't load word pad 6.0. files. I tried to reinstall
word pad but that didn't solve the problem. So, I tried to do an upgrade
with the windows 2000 cd. The result is that the OS don't want to boot
normally (only in full safe mode and in safe mode with a command prompt).

During the booting process, a blue screen appears with a stop error ( the
stop error in the subject line above). The complete error message is:
STOP: c0000263 Driver entry point not found

The \System root\system32\drivers\fltmgr.sys device driver could
not locate the entry point IoGetDeviceAttachmentBaseRef in driver
ntOSKrnl.exe

I tried to repair it with the emergency disk but didn't work...I had to
reinstall. Question : How to deal with such blue screen?
It is the second time, that happend.

Thanks a lot for the response.

It looks like you may have installed something that was designed for XP that
changed out 'fltmgr.sys' The entry point IoGetDeviceAttachmentBaseRef
doesn't exist in pre-XP versions of 'ntoskrnl.exe'
