Post subject: Start Menu | Logoff shows "domain.localusername" instead of just "username" Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsnt>terminalserver>misc (more info?)
I have a customer who has one 2003 Terminal Server where users go to
logoff and the Start Menu | Logoff option shows "domain.local\username"
instead of just the user name. The other two 2003 Terminal Servers
just show the user name.
NOTE: This is when showing the standard Start Menu - not the enhanced
Start Menu.
Previously, this system did have issues with communicating with the
domain, so I had removed it from the domain and rejoined it to the
domain. Now communications are much better with the rest of the domain
(once in awhile things are still weird) and the server reports it's own
name correctly as the full FQDN name and not just the NetBIOS name.
Is there some setting which changes this? If so, I cannot find
anything out on the Internet which discusses this issue and any
resolutions.
All times are: Eastern Time (US & Canada) (change)
