I'm running windows me and word 2000.

Just now when i click to start word i only get the Word Box and the
hourglass and it freezes the system and never loads. If i ctr,alt del
i get a message that resources are too low.

When I reboot all the other programs seem to be working fine.

I do not have a stand alone copy of word, it came intergrated in the
packaged with all the dell software stuff.

I not a total newbe but i have a little knowledge or this computer so
if anyone can offer some simple instructions on what may be wrong and
how i may go about trying to fix it i would appreciate it.

Just a guess but I suspect your problem could be caused by a damaged Word
template file. Using Windows Explorer look for files named NORMAL.DOT and
rename to NORMAL.BAK. Now try starting Word. If that solves the problem
a new default template file will automatically be recreated and you can
delete the files you renamed.

See MS KB 307814 - "WD: Error Message: System Is Dangerously Low on
Resources" (http://support.Microsoft.com?kbid=307814).
