When I forward an email it goes thru to the receipent fine. When they reply
back I receive the email with no response from them (just what I sent them).
However I do receive it on my handheld with their reply showing. If I forward
the email from my handheld their reply does not show up up either. This
appears to be happening only when I forward an email. If I originate the
message everythings seems to work fine. I have discussed this with Verizon
(my hand held supplier) and they dont have a clue. Not sure where to start in
correcting this. Please help

Check the message source for one such blank reply. (Ctrl+F3). Can you see
the text there?

Does this happen for replies to everyone, or just one person?

What happens if you send yourself a message and then reply to yourself after
you have added text. Can you see that? Just use the PC in question for this,
not your hand held.

I can not see the message when using ctrl f3.

This does happen to more than one source but not internally with my company.

I can see the information when I forward myself.

If it isn't in the message source, OE didn't get it.

Any AV or spam programs provided by tour ISP?

Tools | Options | Read | Fonts. Select: Western European (ISO)

Are you reading in Plain Text? No sign of an attachment?

Any chance that the senders that you have this issue with are using MS
Outlook and not Outlook Express, or any other e-mail client?

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving, and
causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes
and has even been responsible for lose of messages. Your up-to-date A/V
program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Note that for some AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program
and reinstall in Custom Mode and opt out of e-mail scanning when the option
arises.

Are you possibly seeing anything in the message source (Ctrl-F3) that
doesn't look like your original message?

If when looking at the message source you don't see any sign of the
reply, just your original forward, then the reply text didn't make it to
OE. It could be that some other program filtered it out. Or else,
something in the encoding is cause OE not to recognize it.

If you would like, you may send me one of the problem messages and I'll
take a look at it. It's best if you zip the message so that I get an
exact copy of it. To do that, do a File, Save As to an EML file of a
problem message. Include both the forwarded message from your Sent
Items folder and the Reply message that you got back

Then Right click the saved EML files and select Send To, Compressed
(zipped) folder. Then e-mail me the resulting ZIP file. Alternately,
you can do a Message, Forward As Attachment of a problem message. This
is not as good as the zip file since the headers can be modified in
transit which may obscure the problem. A simple Forward is worthless
since it does not include the headers.

Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1) when
posting to this newsgroup, please.

Does this happen to all replies to messages you've forwarded or just some?

Is the sender using MS Outlook and RichText/HTML format?

If you forward the message to yourself and then reply to yourself (including
the quote of the forwarded message), what do you see in OE? ...on your
handheld?
