Post subject: Outlook express not sending or receiving emails from yahoo Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>inetexplorer>ie6_outlookexpress (more info?)
Outlook express stopped sending or receiving all of my emails from certain
accounts in mid-August. It also will not receive or send to yahoo.com
accounts. Why is this and how do I fix it? I don't know how many emails I
have missed!

You give us little to go on. How many accounts do you have and with whom?
Which ones work and which do not? Do you get any error messages? If you log
onto Yahoo's Website, can you see messages there? Can you send and receive
from there?

What happens when you use the same login credentials to use their
webmail interface to your account? Yahoo occasionally injects a
security page after login and before displaying the normal webmail
pages. You never bothered to mention HOW you are accessing your Yahoo
Mail account. Maybe you have a free account and are using YahooPOPs,
FreePOPs, or the Webmail add-on to Thunderbird (which run as a local
POP-to-HTTP proxy) to access your freebie account. They expect pages or
URLs to be present in a specific order to know how to navigate the pages
in the webmail interface. The security page interrupts that navigation
and they can't proceed to the normal webmail pages.
So login using the webmail interface, answer the security prompt
(CAPTCHA image), and get to the normal webmail pages. Then exit and
retest using whatever local setup you are using but didn't mention here.
As I recall, I've been hit with the intervening security page 3 times
(over a period of 2 weeks) and then again somewhere around 8 to 10
months later (but just once at that time).
So are you accessing a free or paid Yahoo account? And just WHAT domain
for Yahoo are you trying to access their mail host (.com, .uk.co,
..au.co, or what)?

Since mid August?? Is it a paid account. You now need a paid account with Yahoo. Check your subscription
