Post subject: Media 9 Player Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsme>multimedia (more info?)
I try to run an attachment from an email. It downloads to media player 9 on
my ME system. The screen shows up down the left side of my monitor as if it's
going to start to play. Then...the message says: "You've encountered an
error message while using Windows Media Player. Additional information is
not currently available for this error." I went to "downloads" and
re-installed it thinking it may never had been installed.(7 year old Gateway)
No change...
Could anyone help??

Have you tried saving the attachment first, then running it? Does WMP handle
the filetype appropriately, without any errors? Test this by trying another
media file of the same type.
First thing that comes to mind is that the attachment is corrupt, but that's
only if the above issues don't apply.
