Installation Failure HP PSC 1610 All-in-One

When trying to print out of applications, a printer must be installed error
has started to occur.

During installation of the printer, the installation pops up a screen that
says "Copy API cannot be used".

As the installtion ocntinues, a popup screen appears saying that
"Windows/Temp/msinfo.nfo cannot be found".

The HP installation s/w then creates an error log that says to try
reinstallation which brings up the same popup screens. Thi problem just
started and HP says it is an operating system (Win 98 SE in use) problem.

Can anyone help

i don't know if this will help but i just went to microsoft.com and i did a search on their web site for:
copy api cannot be used

and a whole bunch of stuff popped up

maybe one of them will help!
