Post subject: IE8 running two processes? Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>inetexplorer>ie6>browser (more info?)
Hi. Hope this is the right group since I see none for IE7 or 8. I am running
a 1GHz PIII, 512MB ram Dell with Windows XP Pro SP3. I have noticed in
taskmanger that there are two iexplorer processes running: one a fairly high
Mem Usage number (e.g. 80K), one fairly low (7-10K). Is this normal, for I
never saw it in IE7. Thanks.

Yes, it's normal for IE8.
Those with IE7- and/or IE8-specific questions or comments can post to and
seek support in IE General newsgroup:
