Post subject: Exclude Specific Computer from My Document Redirect
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>group_policy (more info?)

I have 2 different sites (Site A & Site B) in a domain connected via VPN over
a slow internet connection with a domain controller at each office. I
created a GPO & applied it to Site A that redirects the My Docs for any user
at Site A to a server at Site A. Site B has no folder redirect policy as the
users their all login and work from a Terminal Server at Site A.

Now I have a laptop user that needs to travel between Sites. When the
Laptop is at Site A the documents are redirected and at Site B the documents
are moved back to the Laptops local drive.

Questions:

1. Is there a way I can exclude a specific computer from the redirect
policy? The current policy is applied to the Site A container and has
Security Filtering set to Authenticated Users. I would like to manually set
this setting on this specific laptop, so it stays the same no matter what
site it is in.

2. Any better way to do this?

Tony
you can use Loopback Group Policy processing mode to override user GPO
settings with those that are assigned to the computer that that user logs on
to.
For more info, refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/231287
