Is the Address Book in question located/stored on the network?

No it's on the same PC.
The address book is not being shared on the network. The other pc has it's
own address book.
Can't seem to get any names visible in the 'Contacts' pane. When I 'Add a
contact' it drops into the address book but does not get displayed in the
'Contacts' view pane.
Mystery deepens!

Address Book may appear empty when number of contacts exceeds 999.

Contacts pane may appear empty when number of contacts exceeds 100.

THAT WAS IT!! - Thanks...

Had 'Add e-mail contact to address book' option selected and each reply was
being added. This obviously max'd out the view pane software. Shame MS
couldn't put a line of code indicating that this was the case.

I made a mistake in removing names and ended up deleting the whole address
book so I couldn't tell when they became visible again but new contacts are
now added to the list and are visible.

So is this definate in the latest version of OE - max names in the Contacts
list is 100 (or whatever), over this the pane indicates 'There are no
contacts to display etc.etc.' ?

Still seems a bit strange though because all was working ok a few days back
and I havn't replied to over 100 new e-mail contacts since then.

Perhaps this was something to do with a recent OE security update to
restrict the number of contacts to reduce spamming - just a thought.

This has been unknown behavior since OE5.0 at least, Mike.
