Hi
I am using Windows XP SP2, and on my Lan Config I have set an Alternate IP
Address to use If I don't get one via DHCP

I move my laptop around and sometimes need to get an address via DHCP, and
then I move to another Network and there is no DHCP, so it just uses the
Alternate Address.

My problem is that the timeout for the PC to realize It wont get a DHCP
address is about 60 seconds, and since I am moving my pc around a lot it
starts to add up.

Does anyone know how to change this timeout period?

Thanks in advance

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

Check maybe params T1 and/or T2 in registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{interface
GUID} can help you ( read about them in
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/itsolutions/network/deploy/depovg/tcpip2k.mspx )
