Post subject: Change permissions on a registry key and it's children entries
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsnt>registry (more info?)

My goal is to delete the below 3 reg keys via a batch file that I can
send to different users as needed.

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\Vid_0e2c&Pid_000b]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\Vid_0e2c&Pid_000b]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Enum\USB\Vid_0e2c&Pid_000b]

However, to do this you need to give permissions, which I can do using
a REGINI Script:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\Vid_0e2c&Pid_000b
[1 5 7 17 20]
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\Vid_0e2c&Pid_000b [1 5
7 17 20]
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Enum\USB\Vid_0e2c&Pid_000b [1 5
7 17 20]
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Enum\USB\Vid_0e2c&Pid_000b [1 5
7 17 20]

I would have no problem deleting these if they did not have sub keys.
I can't figure out how to replace permissions on all sub keys at the
same time. The sub key names change from computer to computer, but the
top 3 keys above never change. Is there a way to replace permissions
on all sub keys at the same time when I change the permissions?

Or is there some other way to out right simply delete the top 3 keys
above without being hassled by windows security? Can somehow do a Run
As and use the SYSTEM group/account?

If anyone has any advice, it's much appreciated.

C.
