Post subject: Antivirus software Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>security (more info?)
Please help.
An Antivirus company has installed a program trying to force me to buy their
software. Its called Antivirus 2008 by BillingWare. It continues to pop-up
on my screen saying I have 44 virus attacks threatening my computer and will
not allow me to log into my yahoo e-mail account or any account requiring a
password. It launches itself about every 15 minutes while using the internet
and continues to distract my computer usage of various programs. The company
is not valid. Plus, there are several other users that have purchased the
software (just to get rid of them) and have been scammed.
Please advise what to do to remove this program from my computer.

This program is fraudulent. Do not pay them under any circumstances, it will
not help.

I feel your pain. I didn't purchase the program and now it i causing major
problems. I multiple instructions provided on the subject but none applies
because none of the files are found on the computer.
