Post subject: How do I turn off/disable the on screen keyboard? Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support (more info?)
I feel like I've spent the better part of the last 36 hours trying to figure
this out and I'm making no headway. I'm running Windows XP. I'm about ready
to take this laptop to Best Buy, anrd let Geek Squad deal with it. Please
advise

I can't help with your specific problem and hopefully someone else can, but I'd think twice before taking your laptop to Best Buy/Geek Squad - this article explains why:

Do the usual methods not work?
1. Click the x in the upper right corner.
2. File> Close.
