I keep trying to install service pack 3 and it fails with a message that
a windows folder for installation doesn't have enough free disk space
and I need to gain 4 mb more space. The drive it is on has about 300 GB
free but I went ahead and deleted about a GB of stuff anyway and it
still gives me the same silly message.
Can anyone please advise me on what is going on and what I can do about it?
Thanks for any advice.

If you believe your post would be better handled if posted in more than one
newsgroups - please learn to cross-post as opposed to doing what you have
done - and multi-posting.

In the simplest terms - think of it like sending an email. You can send one
email to MANY people at once (crosspost) or you can send that email by
copying/pasting the contents and subject line to a whole new message for
each person you wish to send it to. It's much easier and makes more sense
in most cases to send the message once to many people (if you feel that is
necessary.)

Please check your other posting for my answer to your query (also if you
crossposted - chances are my reply would have crossposted and you could have
checked any ONE of the newsgroups for the answers you seek instead of having
to check multiple ones.)
