Post subject: How do I get rid of Win XP - SP 3? Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>newusers (more info?)
Normally, I let the Windows updates download and I choose to install
them or not... and usually do.
However, I have been notified SP 3 is ready to be installed, and I do
not want it. I've read about the equipment/software people have, who
have been having problems with it, and I'm likely to have the same
problems. Plus, the network improvements in it wouldn't be critical
to me.
Can anyone tell me *specifically* how to remove this SP 3 update, and
ensure that it won't be installed?
TIA... for any help.

Thanks for your quick response.
Did you mean to change that to line 45? Line 47 is for IE7... which I
don't have.
